Small and cozy - feeling in paradise

At 550 meters above sea level the country house is located on the eastern, the so-called “magic side” of the Sibillin National Park, surrounded by fields, forests, small trout ponds and of course the magnificent backdrop of the mountains. Not oppressive and bare, but rather soft and covered with a green that looks like velvet in the afternoon sun.

The valley here is characterized by so-called tower houses, which were built in the 14th century, some of them even earlier. These houses lie below the wonderful town of Montefortino and were used to defend the mill that supplied the town against enemies. The road that passes the country house ends at the Madonna dell'Ambro sanctuary. It is the oldest pilgrimage church in Italy and is popular not only with the Marchigians. The incomparable environment certainly contributes to this. Surrounded by the green of the forests, towering behind the high mountains and the murmur of the Ambro River, visitors will find the right ambience for contemplation and tranquility.

The house with two spacious apartments and a double room was lovingly furnished by the owner Franco and his wife Maria. Each apartment has a bathroom / toilet, heating, a kitchenette with a fridge and full kitchen equipment, a TV and a hairdryer.

The large garden offers guests a barbecue area and each apartment has its own “sun deck” with deck chairs, table and parasol. The garden is surrounded by hedges and flowering bushes and offers an unobstructed view of the fantastic mountains. Of course, the apartments also have a view of the beautiful landscape that is second to none.

If you don't want to take care of breakfast yourself, you have the opportunity to book B&B. I would highly recommend this because the guest is spoiled with a range of delicacies. And should a wish still remain unfulfilled, visitors will find the ideal hosts in the Copponi family who will take good care of their guests.

Anyone who spends their vacation here will feel like in times long past when the world was even quieter and less stressful. During the nights, the silence is only broken by the call of a owl, nothing disturbs the idyll.
The place is ideal for hikers and bikers. The most beautiful hiking trails are, so to speak, right outside the door. It doesn't matter what time of year you come here, it's always a spectacular sight. The bright colors of spring and early summer, the red, gold, silver and brown of our “Indian Summer”, which also lights up the landscape or winter, when the Sibillins are wrapped in a white dress. This landscape remains in the heart of the visitors.

However, the leisure offer is not limited to hiking or biking. In an hour's drive you can reach the sandy beaches of the Adriatic and the cultural treasures that you would not expect are also in the immediate vicinity, such as Montefortino with its grandiose art gallery or Ascoli Piceno, the city of 100 towers, to name just a few.

The apartment building La Baita di Pilato is located below Montemonaco in the fascinating Sibillini Mountains.

All apartments are spacious and well equipped. They can accommodate 2 to 7 people. In addition to normal standards, each apartment has a washing machine, decoder and heating. The house is surrounded by a large garden and is ideal for a holiday without stress and hectic. The heated pool is wonderfully suitable for a pleasant refreshment.

Of course, the kitchenette that is in every apartment does not mean that you have to cook yourself. If you don't want to stand at the stove yourself, you will find restaurants nearby. The flavors of the mountains will undoubtedly also satisfy pampered palates, because on the one hand they offer absolute top quality and on the other hand products from local production without artificial fertilization or rearing. You will indulge in pasta that is homemade almost everywhere, in delicious ham and salamis, in porcini mushrooms and truffles, in fresh trout and, and, and.

The apartment house is a place that is ideal for a harmonious vacation, because noise or stress seem to be at home in another world.
Here, the “background noise” consists of birds chirping from birds that are scarce elsewhere or not at all. Woodpeckers, jays, owls, eagle owls, chaffinches, wagtails ... we were able to preserve a lot in an unspoiled nature that has not fallen victim to progress. Botanists will be amazed by the diversity of trees and flowers. Holm oaks, orchids with over 100 species, gentians of all varieties, from the traditional to the large yellow gentian, the Apennine edelweiss, many endemic plants. A single sea of ​​flowers welcomes the visitor and leaves us speechless before this splendor.

Montemonaco is the most central place in this area. Due to its location in the heart of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains, the access to the most beautiful hiking trails is minimal.

In addition to a deeply impressive nature, culture lovers will also get their money's worth. Montemonaco, Montefortino, Montegallo, Ascoli Piceno are within a maximum of 25 km. Even bathing excursions to the beaches of San Benedetto del Tronto, Grottammare or Cupramarittima only take an hour's drive.
