Umbria - saints and stone monuments

Umbria, the heart of Italy

Assisi

Francis of Assisi and Benedict of Norcia are known to almost everyone, their birth region even less. Umbria is not just a region of the order's founders and saints, but a graceful landscape that shines with enchanting places and excellent cuisine. This area, adjacent to the Marche, Tuscany and Lazio, offers visitors a varied holiday, unless they really want to see the sea. That is the only thing that Umbria does not have. But with Lake Trasimeno it is a wonderful oasis, not far from Perugia, the lively young city with a long history. It comes as no surprise that Perugia is home to the University of Foreigners.

In general, the Umbrian cities are always worthwhile. The most important are Spoleto, Norcia, Assisi, Orvieto, Gubbio and of course Perugia. But a lot of small places are no less recommendable - for a variety of reasons besides their beauty.
We would like to show you the amazing variety of this green region during our travels and of course not forget the unknown Umbria, the excellent cuisine and many unexpected surprises.
