Many hotels by the sea have a very standardized interior. It is very beneficial to find a completely different genre than usual.
One could say that it is like entering a private house, the owner of which has created a feel-good atmosphere by combining many details into a whole.
Although it is a very modern building on the outside and offers all the comforts of modern comfort on the inside, it conveys a lot of comfort.

Location and description

In Grottammare, a charming little coastal town in the south of the Marche, in the immediate vicinity of San Benedetto del Tronto, the hotel is located on the famous palm promenade, which extends for more than 8 km. Only separated by the small coastal road, you are in a few meters by the sea. Here the hotel has a private beach with sun beds and umbrellas and changing rooms. Sea views from almost all rooms and a roof terrace.

All 62 rooms have bath / toilet, air conditioning, hairdryer, TV, WiFi, direct dial telephone, minibar and safe. There is also a small balcony from which you can watch the sunrise, which often has spectacular colors. For the little ones there are cots, a bathtub and of course a playground.
Anyone who wants to take their four-legged friend on vacation is welcome. It almost goes without saying that the dogs should show good behavior.
The rooms, like the whole house, are furnished with great attention to detail. You almost want to call it romantic.

Hotel Canguro and Sfinge

Hotel Canguro

San Benedetto del Tronto is one of the main seaside resorts for the Marches and is famous for its palm corso. This promenade stretches for more than 8 km along the sea and creates a wonderful southern flair with the Mediterranean vegetation of oleanders and palm trees along the Corso.

The two family-run 3-star hotels, Hotel Canguro and Hotel La Sfinge, are in a quieter location on Lungomare Sud, the southern part of San Benedetto del Tronto. To put it more precisely, a quieter location in this case does not mean that the guests are far from the promenade. The lively day and night life of S. Benedetto del Tronto begins 100 m further in the summer months. Those who want to enjoy a good night's sleep even in the high summer months are well accommodated in these two hotels, which are located in a quiet side street. If you cross the small one-way street, you can indulge in the joys of swimming on the hotel's own beach section. It should also be mentioned that the Bandiera Blu, an EU award for best water and beach quality, has been awarded to our coastal towns for well over 10 years.

Hotel Canguro can look back on decades of tradition and is open all year round.
Isabella and Pietro, the owners, do the best for their guests so that everyone can feel at home. The hotel offers 35 rooms, each of which, with the exception of two, have a balcony facing the sea. Ideal to settle down for an hour or two to enjoy the pleasant time of sunrise or sunset. 17 of these rooms have been recently renovated and offer all the comforts of modern times. From free WiFi to air conditioning, from free parking to sun loungers and parasols, which are already included in the price, guests can expect even more pleasure. The hotel specializes in fish dishes, so fresh fish is naturally also part of the daily menu. All those who do not like fish can choose from delicious meat dishes. An extensive salad buffet will satisfy even the most demanding connoisseurs.
The breakfast is just as rich and lets you start the day well with homemade cakes and a well-assorted selection of sausages and cheeses as well as everything you could wish for in a good breakfast.
The terrace at the hotel entrance invites you to enjoy a leisurely aperitif or a glass of wine after an evening stroll.

More importantly, you don't have to leave your four-legged friend at home. Please inform the hotel in advance. If you have to eat gluten-free, this is also guaranteed.

Hotel Sfinge
Hotel La Sfinge is located in the immediate vicinity of Hotel Canguro (for location description see Hotel Canguro).
It is one of the most popular hotels in San Benedetto del Tronto, not least thanks to the furnishings of the 23 rooms, which differ positively from the usual standards of the beach hotels.
The spacious rooms with stylish furnishings, air conditioning, balcony, hairdryer, toiletries, WiFi, TV and the option of booking family rooms.
Just like the Hotel Canguro, the dishes for lunch and / or dinner in the hotel restaurant are preferably based on freshly caught fish. Gluten-free dishes are also provided. As in most restaurants, the Marchigian cuisine is not replaced by the gross nonsense of the so-called "international cuisine".
It is very pleasant to notice that the two hotels are not exposed to noise from the train or the main street and that the guest can spend a quiet night.

The private stretch of beach with restoration is barely 20 meters away. Also in this hotel the sun beds and the parasol are included in the price. It is not necessary to return to the hotel for an espresso or a meal as the chalet "Bagni di Nedio" offers a good selection.
For families with children, it is certainly an important aspect that the sea water gently drops, so that even the younger guests can splash around in the water safely.

Since, like in all coastal towns, the question of parking is often a problem in midsummer, your car is well accommodated in the hotel's parking lot. It is also advisable to rent a bike, which are also owned by the hotel and are available to guests. However, a reservation is recommended.

If you want to explore the surroundings, which I recommend to every guest, you will find enchanting places, especially in the hinterland, at very short distances. Ascoli Piceno, the jewel of the Marches, Ripatransone, Offida, and many others and not least, but a little further away (65 km), the beautiful Sibillini Mountains.
It will be difficult to find an area that exudes so much harmony, has such a diversity of landscapes at short distances and is one of the few that can be called truly original. My advice: use the early summer months or early autumn, then you can find a true paradise.
