A natural open air theater
The Castello from the 15th century is located above the current seaside resort of Cupra Marittima in the old town of Cupra Alta, founded by the Piceners. At those times that were anything but calm, it served many coastal residents as a protective castle against the attacks of barbarians who often came over the sea to carry out bloody raids.
It can almost be described as a "natural theater": the incomparable view from the "rocca" (fortress) down to the sea and the beach on one side, flower-covered walls and glowing bougainvillea on the other. It looks like an enchanted place where time has no meaning because it seems to stand still. The history of this place and its castle is long and varied.
In the servants' house from 1450 there are 2 double rooms, each with an own bathroom, which can be rented by private individuals. A rich breakfast is served here, which can be taken in the garden in summer with a wonderful view. Who wants to be completely indipendend can book without breakfast, the kitchen with all necessities can be used. WiFi is also available free of charge
The guest will be a little amazed, because almost 80 cm thick walls protect naturally from the great summer heat and keep the warmth in the house in winter. The floors are made of old bricks and in the living room a ceiling fresco from 1870 decorates the cross vault. Century-old wooden beams, windows from the 17th century in one room, a garden that is bordered on one side by a high fortress wall and on the other side offers a view of and over the sea and the hills, all of this is a little special experience. One thing, however, should be considered in advance: even if it offers all amenities , there are not standardized standards in this historic building, but if you are looking for a very special place you will find it here.
You can even walk to the beaches in Cupra Marittima with beautiful, well-kept chalets at very reasonable prices (approx. 10 minutes) or you only have to drive down the road to Cupra Marittima if you don't want to take the way back uphill. There are even enough parking spaces and they are even free of charge. Miles of sandy beaches, which are not overcrowded, leave space even in the high summer months. Those who find it too loud and busy at the seaside will have their retreat in Marano.
The many interesting cultural cities and sites are also only very short distances away. Even the dreamy Sibillini Mountains are only about an hour away.
As a dog and a cat are also living with the owner in this house it would not be considerable for persons with an allergy.
