Idiosyncratic and beautiful
At about 800 meters above sea level the country hotel lies on a wonderful vantage point at the foot of the grandiose mountain range of the Sibillins. It is the ideal place for a vacation in the middle of the national park.
The country hotel dates back to the 14th century. Several small buildings form this self-contained estate, two kilometers from Montemonaco. The 17 rooms are equipped with a bathroom and separate heating, all in the local style of this mountain area, cozy and comfortable, but simply furnished.
The specialties of the mountains, the "sapori della montagna", are served in the characteristic restaurant. Typical dishes include trippa, homemade linguine with pork cheeks, polenta with salsicca (typical fresh or smoked pork sausage) and ricotta, all accompanied by local wines from the region, which are stored in the well-stocked wine cellar. An adjoining meeting room offers space for private or business meetings.
In the secluded garden with a view of the most suggestive mountains of the Sibillins, guests will find opportunities to relax or to admire the local specialties that are available every day. The opportunities to pass the time are extensive. The accommodation is an ideal starting point for hikers. Mountain bikers also get their money's worth.
If you are primarily interested in the wonderful, panoramic area of this impressive mountain range, combined with extensive cultural goods that you hardly suspect in this remote area, it is a small paradise on earth.
It's not a negative aspect to note that the house is for people who are individualists who don't care about common standards. The Cittadella is very popular, not only because it is in the heart of the Sibillins, but maybe because of its non-conformity and its host Silvio, who is a wonderful host to his guests and tries to fulfill their every need.

Osteria del Lago
Sleep where the truffle beckons
The times when everyone wanted to spend their vacation in a 4 * hotel have changed. Of course, hotels have their customers, and that's perfectly fine. However, the trend towards independent holidays is increasingly connected with special experiences.
The Fiastra lake is a good choice here, and here again accommodation in the rooms of the Osteria del Lago.
Five double rooms have been set up above the Osteria del Lago. Each room has its own bathroom, TV, hairdryer. Who would be surprised that some of the rooms have wonderful lake views. They are rooms that are simply and functionally furnished. The nice thing is that the furniture is made of real wood instead of imitation wood made of plastic. The floor is also real parquet. It may not seem important to everyone, but like in restaurants and pizzerias, the family places value on real instead of artificial beauty. In addition, the rooms stand out pleasantly from the normal small sizes because they are spacious.
Of course, except in absolute silence at night, only with the sound of night birds, the guest can take a refreshing breakfast in the morning. The good fairy Maria, the Regina della Cucina takes care of that. In addition to wonderful cakes, i.e. the "dolci", clear, homemade, you also get "salati", i.e. Ham, salami, cheese. If you want, you can also indulge in the morning with a frittata with truffles. Let your imagination run wild and just watch yourself sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake, illuminated by the sun, with a nice cappuccino and a delicious breakfast. It is not the big things in life that are remembered, but always the subtleties!
If you want to experience how truffles are actually searched for instead of just being satisfied with a demonstration, you can go looking for them after prior consultation with Felice, the senior host, and his dogs. It quickly becomes clear that a truffle search is not a walk and truffles do not grow under every tree. But the effort is also rewarded if you find what you are looking for and a delicious meal with truffles in the evening!
As the best travel times, I actually recommend every month with the exception of mid-July to late August.
Those who have a feeling for nature and botany, want to spend a quiet and harmonious holiday, are looking for opportunities to hike the most beautiful mountains of the Sibillins, want to see an Italy that is actually only available in the Marches - namely the real Italy, the I recommend a vacation here.

Hotel Vettore
Cosiness without frills
Nestled in a spacious garden, the rustic but nonetheless cozy hotel offers its guests a rich level of relaxation, hospitality, good cuisine and an environment that simply enchants.
Located on the outskirts of Balzo di Montegallo, in the middle of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains, at a remarkable 886 m above sea level. M., it is ideal for all hikers. It is not far to the starting points of the most beautiful trails in the Sibillini Mountains, such as to Lake Pilatus, to Sibilla, to the Vettore ... the hiking trails are varied and endlessly long the list of special features that the viewer finds.
From the hotel, guests can enjoy the view of Monte Vettore, the highest mountain in the Sibillins. But not only hikers have an ideal location. Culture lovers don't need long journeys to enjoy art and culture in abundance. For example, Ascoli Piceno is about a 30-minute drive, the sea to San Benedetto and the other seaside resorts is around an hour's drive away. However, the mountainous landscape is also full of cultural assets and magnificent art treasures like those in Montefortino. It is worth visiting the art gallery and the town as a whole. Shortly after Balzo the landscape begins to change and the visitor will marvel at the great Pian Grande with Castelluccio, which represents a single sea of flowers in June.
The rooms are all equipped with toilet / shower and TV, the hotel also has a large terrace and garden - much space for children. It doesn't always have to be five stars to make a traveler enjoy the vacation. In this house, the incredible hospitality of the owner and his staff is decisive for a "feeling at home". If possible, you will get all your wishes fulfilled. It is almost unnecessary to say that the kitchen is correspondingly rich and varied. You will be pampered with the local specialties of the mountains, along with a few good drops of regional wine. You are welcome and will feel the same way.
